Although we can provide a drinks package at Wethele Manor most couples who choose to have their wedding at Wethele Manor opt either to supply all of the drinks both daytime and evening themselves or supply their own drinks for the daytime and use our pay bar facilities in the evening. Either of these two options would normally result in significant savings being made as opposed to you having a drinks package.
Nearly all couples choose to supply their own daytime drinks and use our pay bar for the evening.
Yes, we have standard wine glasses, tall (water or long drink) glasses and champagne flutes. If you require any specific styles/types of glassware that we do not own we can hire in other glasses at an additional cost.
The drinks you supply would be served by our team to your guests up until the end of the wedding breakfast at which point our pay bar opens.
Yes the bar can be open alongside your daytime drinks that you have supplied.
You can supply drinks for your guest’s arrival as they are mingling in advance of your ceremony however there is an additional cost to do so
Usually Prosecco/Champagne bottled lager/ale/cider. we would suggest you to provide a soft drink option also. Do bear in mind that the more options that you make available the more stock you will need to supply as it is difficult to know what drinks will be popular on the day itself. We would recommend a selection of 3 drinks (perhaps sparkling, bottled beer and a soft drink) and on average 3 drinks per person is a good gauge.
A simple cocktail could be an option as long as we have all of the instruction required to make up this drink and it is not too complex to prepare.
You can however you would need to provide all of the fruit and liquid additions with any appropriate jars, tongs etc.
Yes, we can arrange a drinks package per guest by all means.
The guidance below is based upon an average wedding and is generally more than enough however your own knowledge of your guest’s preferences can either increase or decrease the amounts suggested.
On average your guests will enjoy 3 drinks each during this period however we would always suggest supplying an additional 10% contingency amount so that the staff can comfortably keep circulating amongst your guests topping them up. You would need to ensure that a suitable amount of non-alcoholic options are available to your guests for this period however we do make sure that bottles of chilled water and glasses are available throughout the duration of the entire day and evening.
We would suggest that you base your wine supply on ½ a bottle for each of your adult guests (eg. 100 adult guests = approx. 50 bottles of wine), again an additional 10% contingency amount is worth providing to ensure that it does not run out.
Our staff place one of each of your wines onto the tables in advance of your guests being seated and then during the meal service replenish wines to the tables as appropriate.
We can pour 6 flute glasses from a standard sized bottle of Prosecco/Champagne therefore if you divide your adult guest numbers by 6 it will equate to the amount of bottles required for us to serve a toast drink to every adult guest.
You would be required to provide the fruit needed for Pimms or any other drinks that you may wish to contain fruit. Our staff would prepare the fruit and load into glasses when preparing the drinks for your reception.
They can indeed however this would incur the higher rate drinks management fee and therefore is rarely appropriate.
You can indeed and we would encourage this. We feel it is a lovely gesture for your evening guests to be greeted by our staff with a drink upon arrival. We would set aside the appropriate amount of drinks required to serve an arrival drink to your evening guests and these would be tray served to them upon arrival. We would suggest inviting your guests for an evening drinks reception so that they arrive at the time specified.
If you were to provide alcoholic shots to your guests during the daytime this would incur an additional fee. Do contact us to discuss should you be considering this.
You can however there would be an additional cost to do so. Do contact us if this is something you may be considering.
This has been popular in recent years and is possible however there would be an additional fee to do so as we have found that this requires more staffing and glassware. Do contact us at Wethele Manor to discuss further if this is something you may be considering.
