The’Orchard Bothy’ (outdoor ceremony) – licensed 172 guests
The Conservatory in the main country house, licensed 120 guests
Cordwainers Hall – licensed 172 guests
Licensed for up to 120 guests, the conservatory is adjoined to the main 16th century listed manor house and has a glazed oak gable end, allowing plenty of natural light to enhance the ambience. Combined with the high pitched ceiling, oak beams and rafters, and traditional oak flooring, the room has an abundance of character. Discovered during renovations, an intriguing old sand stone well which is now lit up, with glass cover, provides an interesting, unique feature for your guests to appreciate during the build up to the ceremony.
The conservatory is extremely versatile with different layout options making this room very popular for those seeking a smaller more intimate ceremony.
Licensed for up to 172 guests, ‘Cordwainers hall’ is a renovated L-shaped barn benefitting from lots of natural light. The layout of room allows you the flexibility to choose your preffered seating configuration and point of entrance.
Benefitting from under floor heating the flagstone floor and original exposed oak beams give an authentic, traditional environment in which to enjoy. Dating back to the 16th Century this barn was formally used by a ‘Cordwainer’ and a blacksmith, housing two shire horses so crucial to the 250 acre estate in years gone by.
Licensed for up to a possible 172 guests, the beautiful English Oak structure with York stone Steps provides an idyllic setting for an outside ceremony. Situated on the picturesque courtyard, nestled in amongst the main house and adjacent barns, with panoramic views of the orchard and mature gardens, the ‘Orchard Bothy’ offers the perfect environment for anyone looking to get married outside.
With the recent change in licensing laws now allowing civil ceremonies to take place outside, the Courtyard and Orchard Bothy provide the opportunity for a truely unique ceremony. The proximity of the courtyard means that an outside ceremony can take place without the need for anyone to walk on any lawned area and even if a heavy shower occurs, within minutes of it passing, the ceremony can take place.
The ‘Bothy’ with the york stone steps is often used for photographs during a drinks reception. When night falls, the Bothy is lit up, along withthe beautiful old Oak tree behind it, creating a stunning effect!
You can now have your full legal ceremony outside..anywhere! …within the boundary of Wethele Manor! This includes in our marquee! There must always be one of our indoor ceremony rooms available in the event of wet weather.
By law, drinks are not permitted to be sold or consumed in the ceremony room/outside area prior to or during the ceremony!
