Wethele Manor

Welcome to MY WETHELE MANOR, if you have booked your wedding day with us we will issue you with login details for which you will be able to update the running order of your day and all other essential details.

Wethele Manor, licensed for civil ceremonies, offers a choice of three stunning locations from which to choose for your wedding ceremony both inside and outside.

These areas, whilst having maximum capacities for guest numbers are equally as attractive for smaller ceremonies also. Those wishing to have a civil ceremony at Wethele Manor will have all three options available, allowing them to choose the most appropriate for their requirements.

Licensed for up to 120 guests, the conservatory is adjoined to the main 16th century listed manor house and has a glazed oak gable end, allowing plenty of natural light to enhance the ambience. Combined with the high pitched ceiling, oak beams and rafters, and traditional oak flooring, the room has an abundance of character.  Discovered during renovations, an intriguing old sand stone well which is now lit up, with glass cover, provides an interesting, unique feature for your guests to appreciate during the build up to the ceremony.

The conservatory is extremely versatile with different layout options making this room very popular for those seeking a smaller more intimate ceremony.

Licensed for up to 172 guests, ‘Cordwainers hall’ is a renovated L-shaped barn benefitting from lots of natural light.  The layout of room allows you the flexibility to choose your preffered seating configuration  and point of entrance.

Benefitting from under floor heating the flagstone floor and original exposed oak beams give an authentic, traditional environment in which to enjoy.  Dating back to the 16th Century this barn was formally used by a ‘Cordwainer’ and a blacksmith, housing two shire horses so crucial to the 250 acre estate in years gone by.

Licensed for up to a possible 172 guests, the beautiful English Oak structure with York stone Steps provides an idyllic setting for an outside ceremony. Situated on the picturesque courtyard, nestled in amongst the main house and adjacent barns, with panoramic views of the orchard and mature gardens, the ‘Orchard Bothy’ offers the perfect environment for anyone looking to get married outside.

With the recent change in licensing laws now allowing civil ceremonies to take place outside, the Courtyard and Orchard Bothy provide the opportunity for a truely unique ceremony.  The proximity of the courtyard means that an outside ceremony can take place without the need for anyone to walk on any lawned area and even if a heavy shower occurs, within minutes of it passing, the ceremony can take place.

The ‘Bothy’ with the york stone steps is often used for photographs during a drinks reception.  When night falls, the Bothy is lit up, along with the beautiful old Oak tree behind it, creating a stunning effect!

With a choice of three very different licensed areas for Civil ceremonies. We welcome anyone wishing to view Wethele Manor by prior arrangement.

We were really pleasantly surprised by the whole day. We appreciated the venue location and the attention to detail from the team and we also had a good chat with Simon at the end of the day. It was really nice to not have that ‘one size fits all’ feel you so often get with big hotel chains

I can't say enough good things about Wethele Manor. It's beautiful and the staff are always so happy and willing to accommodate your needs. Simon thank you so so much for giving us the most wonderful day you went above and beyond and for that we are so very grateful..

This is a fabulous place to hold your wedding. As a guest on a beautiful sunny day, the wedding was outside. The grounds are very tastefully laid out with plenty of room for the guests to relax before the ceremony. The food is absolutely wonderful, and the staff very efficient and friendly.

My husband and I visited several venues before finding Wethele Manor which we both instantly fell in love with. The house and the gardens are stunning and just what we were looking for. Duncan and his team were a pleasure to work with over the 15 months of planning; nothing we asked for was ever an issue and the whole team accommodated all of our requests. The catering team were phenomenal- Jenny and her team are so enthusiastic and passionate about their food and rightly so, it's all exquisite! (so much so that we had to opt for a 50/50 split for starter and desert as we simply couldn't pick one dish!) All in all, I can't rate Wethele and the staff that work there enough. The venue will always have a place close to our hearts and we plan to return for our first anniversary.
